Dr. Anna Rainwater holds both a Doctorate and Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, NC. Her postgraduate training emphasized classical Chinese medicine, differential diagnosis, and integrative approaches to chronic and complex conditions. Anna’s clinical focuses include autoimmune disorders, women’s health, and the somatic manifestations of emotional trauma. Her diagnostic and treatment approach is both evidence-informed and rooted in classical East Asian medical theory. Dr. Rainwater is particularly skilled in working with layered, multifactorial cases that require a holistic view of the patient’s physiology and psycho-emotional landscape. She utilizes a range of modalities, including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, food therapy, and lifestyle recommendations tailored to each patient’s individual presentation as it evolves. Anna brings a grounded, methodical presence to her clinical work, balanced by a strong sense of attunement and cultivation. She views Chinese medicine as a comprehensive, adaptive medical system designed to address any and all ways a person could present. It is with deep respect for the tradition — and the patients she serves — that she continues to refine and offer her practice. While not at the clinic, Anna is likely laughing loudly, delving into anything outdoors, traveling, meditating, or generally taking every opportunity to deepen her practice and her love of life.

The insertion of hair-thin, sterile, single-use needles into the body stimulates the body’s natural healing response through various physiological systems. The process is often painless, or nearly so, and generally very relaxing. Usually the needles are retained for 15 to 45 minutes. Your treatments may include points on your hands, arms, legs, feet, and/or head and neck.
