Growing up in Nanaimo, movement has always been a huge part of Erik’s life. Be it playing soccer or basketball growing up, or trying to pick up heavy objects in the gym, Erik’s love for the outdoors and active lifestyle fostered a passion for movement and health from an early age. He began his academic journey at the University of Victoria, where he earned an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, developing and further refining his understanding of human movement and exercise. After spending multiple years working in community care for Island Health helping the general population get stronger and move better, Erik went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy at the University of British Columbia. During his training, Erik had the opportunity to work with a wide range of patient’s in several different settings, including orthopaedics, neurological rehabilitation, elder care and multiple private clinics. On top of this, Erik has additional certification in manual therapy (AIM Level 1), with plans of further ongoing education in the manual therapy, IMS, and athletic performance spaces. Through these experiences, Erik has learned to understand and appreciate the importance of patient-centered care, believing in collaborating closely with patients to design personalized treatment programs that align with their hobbies, daily routines, and lifestyle. A strong advocate for setting clear expectations and collaborating with patients to develop meaningful goals, Erik ensures the care given to each patient is unique and concise to their given needs. Whether you’re looking to return to sport from an injury, set a new PR in the gym, or just looking to reduce pain during the day-to-day, Erik is committed to supporting you on your journey to better health and movement. When not working with patients, Erik enjoys playing sports, hiking, lifting weights and sampling all the fine cuisine Victoria has to offer.
