Moore Massage
786 Johnnie Dodds Blvd., Ste. A, Mount Pleasant, SC, 29464
Mel Moore received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida, where he specialized in Biology. He received his training in massage therapy at Southeastern Institute in Charleston, South Carolina. Mel enjoys the medical aspect of Neuromuscular Massage Therapy and is skilled at finding and targeting the underlying cause of his clients' pain rather than just focusing on the symptoms. Mel was introduced to the therapeutic aspects of massage therapy through his wife. She was suffering from migraine headaches with little relief from prescription medication. After several massages her headaches subsided. He realized that people have health issues and they never consider massage as a solution to those issues. He realized then that massage was more than a luxury item for special occasions, but rather a part of your health and wellness. Mel provides a complete diagnostic consultation before each client's visit to determine the cause and source of any pain or discomfort they may be experiencing and then to establish a treatment plan. He resides in Mt. Pleasant with his wife and daughter.
Massage
Probably the most common type of massage received, because it uses long flowing strokes that really induce a much needed state of relaxation. Many clients use this massage as a regular program for anxiety/stress management. Think of it as a manual reset button that truly allows you to escape for an hour. Even though it feels completely self-indulgent, it has those and many more therapeutic benefits.
Lymphatic Drainage
Originally developed by Dr. Emil Vodder in the 1930s, Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage primarily addresses lymphedema. Whether congenital or associated with radiation, chemotherapy, or other surgical procedures, this gentle massage technique reduces the edema (swelling) and speeds up surgical recovery time.
