Helen grew up playing many sports and has gone through many different physios and treatments. Helen’s journey into physiotherapy began from tearing her ACL at the age of 14 while playing competitive soccer. She then made it her mission to become a provider that cares to return their patients to their goals. She set off to receive her Athletic therapy Bachelors program at Sheridan college in 2019 and went on to pursue the Masters of Physiotherapy in Edinburgh, Scotland at Queen Margaret University. Helen has had a variety of placements with many sports teams and had the pleasure and opportunity to travel with university teams around Canada, covered some major sporting events, and worked with professional and semi-professional soccer and football players. Through these experiences, she refined her sports taping skills, and applied her emergency training as a Certified First Responder when required at on-field sporting events. In Scotland, Helen learned and practiced treating all ages, from neonates in the hospital, to the geriatric population in long-term facilities. She has worked with a variety of conditions in cardiorespiratory, neurological, and musculoskeletal environments. This is where she also began her journey in becoming a pelvic floor physiotherapist. Helen loves treating and helping people achieve their goals through activity specific exercise, manual therapy, taping, and brace fitting as required. Helen believes it is important for the patient to be in control of their rehabilitation and to provide them with the support and knowledge they need to meet their rehabilitation goals and return them to what matters to them the most. Helen is able to help in English, French and Arabic.
