Born and raised in Banff, Ian grew up immersed in sport and the outdoors — experiences that helped shape his passion for health, performance, and lifelong physical activity. He is dedicated to helping people move better, recover confidently, and perform at their highest level. Ian earned his Bachelor of Kinesiology with a Minor in Psychology from the University of British Columbia in 2020. During his time at UBC, he worked as a certified personal trainer, served as a strength and conditioning coach for the varsity football team, and collaborated with professors and researchers to help develop a specialized work-learn position focused on spinal cord and neurological rehabilitation. He went on to complete his Doctor of Physiotherapy at Bond University in Australia in 2023, where he trained alongside leading researchers in sports medicine and physiotherapy. During this time, Ian also gained invaluable experience working with Stanford University’s sports medicine team in California. Ian’s treatment approach combines evidence-based rehabilitation with principles of strength and conditioning, active recovery, and long-term performance optimization. He believes successful rehabilitation goes beyond simply reducing pain — it should help people build resilience, restore confidence in movement, and return stronger than before. He works closely with clients to create individualized treatment plans tailored to their goals, whether they are recovering from injury, returning to sport, improving performance, or building a healthier and more active lifestyle. Ian has a particular interest in musculoskeletal injuries, athletic performance, injury prevention, and helping individuals continue doing the activities they love for years to come. Outside the clinic, Ian enjoys spending time with friends and family and staying active through hockey, rugby, tennis, golf, and skiing.
