Adriana Spassova graduated from Queens University where she completed her Masters of Physiotherapy in 2012. She has worked as an Orthopaedic therapist treating a variety of musculoskeletal injuries with the end goal of improving overall health and strength as well as optimizing individual performance. During her own pregnancy, she saw a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist which sparked an interest to pursue training in pelvic floor physiotherapy. Adriana has a passion in treating pre and post-natal patients who suffer from pelvic floor dysfunctions. Adriana is committed to providing the highest quality of care to her patients by integrating evidence-based practice with her clinical experience. Her goal is to help women gain back their core strength and regain control over their pelvic floor muscles. She believes in implementing highly individualized treatment plans and relies on manual therapy, soft tissue release, exercise prescription, and patient education to help her clients achieve their therapeutic goal. During her spare time Adriana enjoys working out, skiing (in the winter), travelling, spending quality time with her daughter, son and husband and enjoying the outdoors!

During your initial physiotherapy assessment, your therapist will do a thorough examination of your range of motion, strength, balance, posture, movement patterns, and exercise tolerance to identify physical limitations. As well, your overall health is influenced by more than just your physical impairment which is why your therapist will also use a biopsychosocial approach to understand how your unique lifestyle factors play a role in your overall health.
