Whitney has always had a passion for connecting with people, making them feel understood and helping them in whatever capacity she could, which led her to Massage Therapy, where she could work one-on-one with facilitating the healing of others. She graduated from the intensive 3000-hour Registered Massage Therapy program at the Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences in Nelson, BC in August 2023 and is now a Registered Massage Therapist. Whitney enjoys building relationships with her clients and assisting them in reaching their specific and unique goals. She prides herself on her active listening skills, as well as “listening with her hands” and the ability to hone in on the specific needs of each individual and provide the appropriate treatment for each unique client’s healing. She believes there is not a one-size-fits-all solution and therefore will tailor your treatment and homecare recommendations to fit your needs, abilities, and lifestyle. She wants to empower clients and assist in the facilitation of healthy healing. She strongly believes that massage therapy is a collaborative effort between the therapist and the patient. She believes that the body can heal itself and recognizes that her knowledge and skills can assist in that process. She looks forward to offering a safe space to help you maintain or regain function, decrease discomfort/pain increase ease of movement, and calm the nervous system. Whitney blends a variety of Swedish Massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilization, muscle energy techniques and therapeutic exercises . She plans to take many post grad courses to continually educate herself on new techniques that can help her clients. She has a special interest in chronic pain and nervous system regulation
