Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese medicine therapy that uses a smooth-edged tool to gently stroke the skin. It is commonly used to promote circulation, relieve muscle tension and stiffness, reduce discomfort, and support relaxation. Temporary redness or small red or purple marks (“Sha”) may appear on the treated area and typically fade gradually within several days. Gua Sha may be used alone or combined with acupuncture, cupping, or other therapies when clinically appropriate.
