Emily is a graduate of the Northwest Academy for the Healing Arts in Tacoma, WA and has also been deeply influenced by the teachings of the Moving Mountain Institute here in Portland. Working primarily with the myofascial system she also incorporates Swedish and deep tissue massage techniques into her work. Both personally and professionally, Emily has experienced massage as a powerful tool for physical, spiritual and emotional transformation. While not afraid to throw in an elbow, Emily has found that the most potent treatments happen by working gently, in concert with each body’s innate healing capabilities. By moving slowly and curiously at ‘the speed of trust’ she creates time and space for tissues to respond and relax creating a felt sense of safety, ease and comfort. While truly loving to work with all types of folks, Emily’s skills shine brightest when working with people who identify as highly sensitive and those who experience chronic pain. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, she especially loves her home stomping grounds along the Washington coast of the Olympic Peninsula. When not in the treatment room she can be found in a hammock in the forest, paddle boarding in the ocean or on the couch playing cribbage with her husband.
