Dr. Kali Simmonds, ND Naturopathic Doctor Education Bachelor of Science Degree, University of Prince Edward Island Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, CCNM, Toronto, ON Practice Focus My practice has naturally evolved to include a lot of hypothyroidism, perimenopause, menopause, digestive conditions, cancer, depression, anxiety, autoimmune conditions, skin problems and weight loss. I strive to teach, empower and encourage my patients to advocate for themselves. About Me I practiced in a multidisciplinary clinic in Toronto with MDs, chiropractors, and massage therapists for a year before returning home. I have been in private practice and have owned The Root Cellar for 20 years. As children, we would shop there with our Mom who shaped my interpretation of health and made me aware that Naturopathic Doctors existed. I am grateful to be able to apply my knowledge to my own health and that of my family. For 12 seasons I have cohosted a health show Au Natural on Eastlink Community TV with Lana. My husband Pat and I have 6 children and for that reason, I am very family-focused at this stage and only practice part-time. I spend much time on the road in hockey rinks, gymnastics academies and soccer fields. It is hard not to share my naturopathic tips in everyday life. I am interested in politics because I think there needs to be a shift from our sick care system to one that also truly fosters health. In another life, I may have worked in architecture or interior design. Amidst a hectic schedule, I cherish with family and friends.
An initial assessment is conducted by reviewing past medical history, current medical history, family history, bloodwork and imaging, prescription and over-the-counter medications, supplements, and diet.
