Hi there! I’m Isabel, and I’m a Registered Physiotherapist here at Wintergreen. I obtained my Master of Science in Physiotherapy degree from McMaster University in 2022 and I also hold a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree (2018) as well as a Master of Science in Global Health degree (2019). My love for building therapeutic relationships with clients and helping them overcome challenges to get back to the activities that are most meaningful to them is what ultimately led me to pursue a career in the rehabilitation field. Why Work With Me Over the course of my education and extensive training, I’ve had the opportunity to work with clients with a wide range of complex orthopedic, neurological, and cardiorespiratory conditions in both community clinic and hospital settings. In doing so, I developed keen interests in manual therapy techniques, active-based rehab, chronic pain management, and concussion rehabilitation. I’ve also developed a keen ability to develop and adapt treatment plans so that they are specifically tailored to each patient’s specific goals and lifestyle. I’m a huge advocate of life-long learning and am always looking for ways to expand my skillset through research and continuing education. My Approach At the centre of my approach to working with clients is a positive therapeutic relationship. I aim to create a welcoming atmosphere where patients feel heard and cared for. After a thorough assessment, I work with the patient to develop a treatment plan that fits their goals and lifestyle. I believe that no two patients are the same – and so no two treatment plans will ever be exactly the same. I am a big proponent of one-on-one, hands-on treatment as well as active movement in my practice, with the goal of helping patients build up self-efficacy and confidence as they make progress towards their treatment goals. My goal is to get to know your story and the things that are most meaningful to you, and use this knowledge to provide care that is individualized and patient-centered. In doing so I hope to make your rehab journey meaningful and enjoyable!
