Dr. Talha Farooq graduated from the Honours Kinesiology program at York University. He decided to pursue his career as a chiropractor due to his strong athletic background in soccer, cross country running, ice hockey and basketball as well as his passion for manual therapy. He is a movement focused therapist and enjoys treating a variety of athletes in multiple sports as well weekend warriors . He holds certifications in Medical Acupuncture (MacU), Athletic Movement Assessment and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization . More than a snap, crackle, pop chiro, he spends time correcting movement patterns and uses an individualized and comprehensive approach to manual therapy which consists of both passive and active treatment. He currently plays soccer and ice hockey in a men’s league and recently started playing squash. He enjoys camping, hiking, fishing and skiing.
The initial assessment consists of a thorough history of your signs and symptoms, a physical examination, a neurological examination and a movement assessment. This is followed by a plan of management, a report of findings explaining what it is going on in your situation, getting consent to treatment as well as the treatment itself.
