Amara has worked at a Tibetan Medical Clinic where the integration of spiritual and physical wellness was emphasized, and she established a community acupuncture clinic to provide greater access to acupuncture. She has trained in martial arts for over twenty years. Amara has taught Tai Chi for health extensively throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. She began her teaching career as an assistant instructor for a lunchtime series of Tai Chi classes for Stanford University’s Wellness Program. Before practicing Chinese Medicine, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from San Jose State University, California. While initially trained to identify literary themes and patterns, Amara has applied this skill to uncover overarching medical patterns among seemingly unrelated symptoms. Amara traveled throughout Asia (predominantly India and Nepal) between high school and college. Practitioner Philosophy: Amara believes that balance is the key to health. When we have the space to listen, healing can unfold. She is inspired to implement a network of relationships and the interconnectedness of energetic pathways to create harmony. Her passion is finding practical ways to apply ancient wisdom and principles to our modern lives.
An initial visit covers a complete intake, diagnosis, and acupuncture treatment. The session typically lasts 75 minutes or up to 90 minutes. Session times are approximate and offered to help you plan your day. Acupuncture fees reflect the practitioner’s evaluation, expertise, and personalized treatment planning rather than the duration of the appointment. If you cannot find a time slot that works for you, please call us at 650-468-3636 to see if we can assist you in getting in sooner. A $100 fee will be charged for a no-show if you miss your appointment, cancel, or change your appointment with less than 24 hours ' notice.
