Dr. Liam Asuchak, BSc, ND Dr. Liam was born on Vancouver Island and raised in Calgary. His early years were spent engaging in various sports with a focus on football. This active lifestyle and passion for fitness and nutrition influenced him to complete a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. He then went on to complete his Naturopathic training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine – BC Campus, in New Westminster. Since high school Dr. Liam knew that he wanted to work in healthcare. However, it was not until he experienced his own health struggles that he became aware of naturopathic medicine. During his undergraduate degree he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. Finding the conventional system to be lacking in some areas he sought out complimentary medicine to help manage his condition. Taking control of his own health he has utilized nutrition, stress reduction, and targeted supplements and botanicals to keep his symptoms under control. The holistic approach and individual empowerment involved in naturopathic medicine aligned with his values and inspired Liam to become a naturopathic doctor. Dr. Liam prides himself in educating his patients about their health and empowering them to play a leading role in their own healing process. He emphasizes establishing strong foundations while utilizing both standard and advanced laboratory tests to guide assessment and treatments. Rooted in an evidence-based approach Dr. Liam will develop an individualized treatment plan to get your health on track. Due to his history with inflammatory bowel disease he has developed a strong interest in helping others with their digestive health. While open to treating a variety of conditions he also has interests in metabolic health, cardiovascular health, autoimmune diseases, physical injuries or pain, and fatigue.
