Cathleen Shambhavi Fitzpatrick is a licensed massage therapist and bodyworker based in Stowe, Vermont, and the founder of Maitri Bodyworks. Her work is centered on pain relief, nervous system support, and restoring balance within the body. At the heart of her practice is a deep respect for the bodys innate ability to heal. Shambhavis role is to facilitate this natural process by integrating therapeutic and healing modalities that support the connection between the physical, emotional, and mental bodyallowing clients to experience greater ease, awareness, and resilience. She integrates therapeutic massage with advanced training in Upledger CranioSacral Therapy (CranioSacral Therapy Levels 1 and 2), working with both structural and subtle patterns in the body. Her sessions support clients experiencing chronic pain, musculoskeletal discomfort, fascia-related restrictions, stress-related conditions, and injury recovery. Shambhavi began her career in movement, spending over 25 years performing, teaching, and studying dance. With a deep fascination for anatomy and the physiology of movement, she transitioned into massage and bodywork, graduating from the New School for Massage, Bodywork, and Healing in Chicago in 2005. Her path then led her to India, where she lived and studied in the foothills of the Himalayas, immersing herself in yoga, meditation, and Buddhist and Yogic traditions. She trained in Hatha, Ashtanga, and yoga therapy, completing certifications through Mount Madonna Center (California), Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram (Kerala, India), and YogaPoint Yoga Vidya Gurukul (Nashik, India), with additional focus on yoga therapy and prenatal care. In session, Shambhavi weaves together a range of modalities including deep tissue techniques, Swedish massage, Craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, sports massage, Thai massage, breathwork, and subtle energy-based practices. Each session is tailored to the individual, creating a grounded, therapeutic environment that supports both targeted pain relief and deep restorative healing.
