Jill was born the second in a line of five children in Calgary, Canada. After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting) from The University of Calgary in 1990, she spent 3 years in public practice accounting with Deloitte & Touche & received the designation of Chartered Accountant. Following a roller skating injury when she was younger combined with deconditioning when she started University & stopped ice skating, Jill discovered first hand the benefits of chiropractic care. Although it was not until she started practicing as an accountant & found the best part of her day was the start in the chiropractor’s office that it became clear a career change was in order. With this she packed up her bags & moved to upstate New York to enroll in the degree program at New York Chiropractic College (now the Northeast College of Health Sciences). Jill graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1997 & returned to Calgary to run her own practice for 7 years, cross continent commuting for most of it to see her partner. In 2005 she took her passion and skills to her family’s homeland to practice in the UK until 2011. After that she returned to Canada to practice exclusively in Fernie, BC until 2021 when she chose to change gears and expand her career through volunteer work/ locum coverage throughout BC & AB. Jill has an extensive background in all aspects of family practice and enjoys the challenge of working with children and adults in the realm of rehabilitation and performance optimization. She has pursued advanced training in sports injuries & injury rehabilitation with a special interest in soft tissue injuries. She has received further training in SOT, Activator, chiropractic rehabilitation, Active Release Techniques & Graston Technique. During her time in the UK, she completed a 10-session program in Chiropractic Neurology at the Medical Education Centre, Solihull Hospital & became a Certified Kinesiotaping Instructor in 2008. In 2015 she received her International Chiropractic Sports Sciences Practitioner designation. She continues to update her skills regularly with Continuing Professional Development with a focus in concussions & rehabilitation. In her spare time, you can find her traveling, doing pilates, enjoying golfing or following her passion for photography.
