Sinjan Potgieter was born in South Africa and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was five years old. Growing up, he developed a passion for sports and the outdoors and knew he wanted a career that would allow him to stay active while helping others. This led him to pursue Kinesiology at UBCO Okanagan, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Kinetics. He is also a CSEP-Certified Personal Trainer. He works closely with physiotherapists to provide individualized rehabilitation and exercise-based care. His experience includes a thorough biomechanical assessment and rehabilitation of shoulders, knee, and hip injuries, osteoarthritis, back pain, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis. He also has experience working with complex injuries following motor vehicle accidents and other trauma affecting the body as a whole. Sinjan takes a whole-body approach to rehabilitation, with a particular interest in the relationship between the pelvic floor and overall movement and function. He is confident in helping people with the many different causes of back pain and enjoys mentoring rehabilitation assistants and sharing his knowledge with others. Most importantly, Sinjan believes that rehabilitation is about more than just physical recovery. He strives to support his clients both physically and emotionally, helping them rebuild confidence in their bodies so they can move and function at their best.
