Registered Physiotherapist Originally from the mainland, Sonya completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University and her Master of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia. While attending Simon Fraser University, Sonya worked as a student trainer in the SFU Physio Clinic as well as a trainer for the New Westminster Jr. A lacrosse team. As part of her commitment to work-life balance, she competed as an amateur boxer during this time. Additionally, Sonya has participated in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments while completing her degree in physiotherapy. Sonya’s passion is to provide holistic, evidence-based care that includes elements of manual therapy, personalized exercise programs, and education. She also offers acupuncture as an adjunct to treatment when appropriate, integrating it into care plans to support pain management and recovery. Sonya understands that injuries can affect more than just the physical aspect of life. Her objective is to help you establish and accomplish goals so that you may get back to activities that bring you fulfillment. Outside of her physiotherapy career, Sonya teaches and trains Muay Thai with her husband, as well as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where she holds a blue belt.
