Derek Fletcher obtained his Masters degree in Physiotherapy from the University of British Columbia after completing a Bachelor degree in Kinesiology from the University of the Fraser Valley. Derek has continued extensive post-graduate education completing his Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT), dry needling (IMS), concussion rehabilitation, functional range conditioning (FRC), active release (ART) and various other manual therapy techniques. As an athlete in University Derek saw the benefit first hand Physiotherapy could make, it enabled him to continue his Volleyball career as an Academic All-Canadian (recently being inducted into the UFV hall of fame). He now loves using his training to give back to athletes at all levels and help them maximize their potential. Derek believes each person and body needs an individualized and specific approach to best find how to maximize their improvement. Derek believes strongly in empowering his clients through understanding of their injuries. Derek can draw on his experience and various training to benefit his clients with a manual and active approach. Derek has experience working with athletes from every level including his recent work traveling with the Canadian Freestyle Ski Team. When not in the clinic you will find Derek enjoying the outdoors with his wife or playing some pickup basketball or volleyball.
