Nathan is a Certified Athletic Therapist, CAT(C). He graduated out of Mount Royal University with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education majoring in Athletic Therapy. He grew up in the climbing community as a youth competitor and later branched out to coaching. Having sustained his fair share of injuries, Nathan has developed a strong empathy for those that are prevented from doing what they love, due to injury. So it’s Nathan’s mission to help you understand your pain or injury, and give you the appropriate treatment and rehab plan to regain control over your active lifestyle. Athletic Therapists are often known for their quick-thinking on-field emergency care of professional and elite athletes. However, they are just as well trained in the clinical setting, because they are responsible for the full spectrum of care for those athletes. Athletic Therapists adhere to the Sports Medicine Model of care. They treat a wide range of patients, from kids with concussions to seniors recovering from hip replacement surgery, using various manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescription and even bracing and taping. The treatment varies but the objective doesn’t: an Athletic Therapist’s goal is to help clients return to their usual activities, whether that means playing competitive sports or walking to the mailbox and back.
For those who are new to the clinic or have a new injury that Nathan hasn’t assessed yet.
