Stacey (they/them) graduated with honours from Centennial College in 2008. They provide treatments for rehabilitation, pregnancy, general health maintenance, and the reduction of stress and anxiety using Swedish massage, for clients across their entire lifespan, from infancy to seniors. Their primary clinical interests are the effects of massage therapy on mental health and related symptoms, and the use of massage for maintaining long term physical function. Stacey is a part-time teacher in Centennial College’s Massage Therapy program, where they enjoy helping students succeed in their journey to become Registered Massage Therapists. They are also the author and co-author of a number of journal articles and chapters in textbooks, and is an interested and active participant in various aspects of massage therapy research. Their work keeps them up to date with the newest findings in the area of massage, including complementary and alternative medicine. In addition to their advanced diploma in Massage Therapy, Stacey has a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Philosophy with an emphasis in applied ethics from Trent University. They are currently working on their Master’s of Education through Athabasca University.
Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues and joints of the body. Using a variety of hands-on techniques such as kneading, pushing, and stretching, the Therapist will treat muscles and joints which cause you the most pain and discomfort while providing a relaxing massage for areas that are less stressed.
