BKin - UBC MSc PT - Glasgow Caledonian University Surkh graduated with his Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia, and his Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland. Surkh has been very active growing up, and became interested in physiotherapy after frequent visits due to multiple injuries. Surkh became further fascinated in neurorehabilitation after taking psychology courses and learning how the brain can influence how the body works. During his Masters, Surkh experienced a 12-week placement in the Neurological Rehabilitation Unit in Glasgow where he had the opportunity to work with patients with various neurological conditions, including Guillain-Barre syndrome, nutritional neuropathies, functional neurological disorder, stroke, and meningioma resection. After graduating, Surkh stayed in Glasgow working as a rotational physiotherapist within the NHS, including nine months on the acute stroke ward, and with a local rugby team. Surkh enjoys collaborating with his patients and working as a team to find the best way to help patients achieve their goals. Surkh enjoys being active away from the clinic. He is an avid runner, and has run multiple marathons. He likes to combine running with his other hobbies, including travelling and eating. He also enjoys trail running, hiking, and hockey.
