Your initial pelvic health physiotherapy assessment is a comprehensive 60-minute appointment designed to understand your concerns, identify contributing factors, and develop a personalized treatment plan. During your assessment, your physiotherapist will take the time to discuss your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and goals before completing a thorough physical examination. With your informed consent, this may include an internal pelvic floor assessment when clinically appropriate, although this is never mandatory and alternative assessment options are always available. Pelvic health physiotherapy can help with a wide range of concerns, including urinary incontinence, urgency and frequency, pelvic pain, prolapse, constipation, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, painful intercourse, core weakness, and pelvic floor dysfunction in all genders. Following your assessment, your physiotherapist will explain their findings, answer any questions, and create an individualized treatment plan that may include education, manual therapy, pelvic floor muscle training, breathing and core retraining, exercise prescription, and strategies to help you return confidently to your daily activities.
