Marta graduated Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2012 and began work as a personal trainer. In coaching people toward their fitness goals, she realized a gap in her knowledge with regards to injury prevention and functional mobility. She attended the Academy of Massage Therapy in Ottawa and graduated with honours in 2014 and quickly began working, taking additional courses in functional mobility and perinatal massage. She is excited to work weekends in the new year after taking intermittent breaks since 2018 to raise two wonderful high energy children. Marta’s approach is very focused on client goals. She is honoured to be able to work with people to create a treatment plan that is tailored to their lifestyle and goals. To her, pain and limited range of motion is like an exciting puzzle to solve, figuring out which muscles need attention: whether to stretch, strengthen, or decrease tension. She looks forward to focusing more on her career and getting back to helping people live their lives with less discomfort and more mobility. Therapeutic massage uses swedish techniques but is a more tailored approach to meet each clients specific needs. Along with swedish techniques, there may be a wider variety of techniques used during treatment (think stretches or deep tissue). Therapeutic massage is great for an ongoing treatment plan, or maintenance work.
