Dr. Downie believes that achieving the best results for her patients involves establishing a partnership where the doctor and patient work together to reach successful outcomes. Prior to returning to her home town in Kelowna, Dr. Downie owned a successful multidisciplinary clinic in the North Okanagan. Dr. Downie takes an individualized approach to patient care and utilizes a wide range of adjusting and soft tissue techniques depending on patient preferences and needs. She is certified by the Academy Counsel of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP) and her training with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association has provided her the background to take excellent care of children and infants. Helping children to achieve their full potential is a special area of interest. From chronic repetitive injuries to weekend warrior mishaps, Dr. Downie empowers her patients to be involved in their own recovery by providing them with tailored rehabilitation exercises to help decrease pain and speed their return to living the life they love. Dr. Downie completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology with distinction from the University of Victoria. She graduated with her Doctorate from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2011 with clinical honours and Dean’s List. While working in the North Okanagan, Dr. Downie was also a professor of neuroanatomy at the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy. She has been involved with PainBC and hopes to improve patient experiences for those navigating chronic pain. Dr. Downie enjoys leading an active lifestyle in the four-season playground that the Okanagan has to offer and when the snow melts up high can often be found hiking in the mountains. She is proud to be a member of the OHP team and looks forward to helping you achieve your health goals.
