Heather Alley has been practicing massage therapy since 2006, after graduating from the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, NY. Dedicated to hands-on learning, she has completed the majority of her continuing education in person, exploring a wide range of therapeutic modalities. Heather is well-versed in many techniques, but she is most drawn to myofascial release, medical massage, and energy therapy, grounded in her strong belief that body, mind, and spirit are all deeply connected. With this integrative approach, Heather has honed her intuitive abilities to customize each session based on how her patient presents that day. She draws from a wealth of techniques, styles, and modalities—skillfully weaving together a combination of methods that often bring about the greatest relief and transformation, sometimes in ways the patient didn’t even know they needed. Heather’s background includes experience in luxury spa settings such as the Bar Harbor Club in Bar Harbor, Maine, and the Cheeca Lodge and Spa in Islamorada, Florida Keys. From 2009 to 2025, she operated her own private practice in Maine, developing a special focus on helping those experiencing chronic pain and discomfort. Before relocating to Dutchess County in 2025, Heather spent more than a decade practicing out of CrossFit Acadia near Bar Harbor, where she enjoyed hiking, biking, and connecting with nature—activities she’s grateful to continue exploring in the Hudson Valley.
Specific medical conditions require strategic bodywork that is attuned to your unique needs. Your initial medical massage includes personalized consultation time and an analysis of health history to fine-tune and elevate your massage. Medical massages can help if you are recovering from an injury, surgery, complex medical issue or are suffering with muscle atrophy or a chronic pain syndrome due to an underlying condition (e.g. MS, ALS, CP). Depending on your needs, your medical massage may include a combination of Swedish and deep tissue techniques, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, joint mobilization, isolytic release, muscle energy technique, manual manipulation to increase functionality, passive stretching, and range of motion techniques.
