L.Ac., Dipl. OM., MSOM, NCCAOM Board Certified Sarah Brynestad, L.Ac., received her Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado in 2013. After three and a half rigorous years of study, Sarah completed over 2,000 hours in classroom work; becoming proficient in all theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine including herbal medicine. She really enjoys using all the tools the medicine has to offer, including moxa, cupping, guasha, and she is especially great at dry needling. Sarah also enjoys working with children, using a highly effective Japanese technique called Sho-ni-shin, which utilizes special tools for tapping and rubbing the skin in place of needling. Sarah joined Alpenglow Acupuncture shortly after it opened in 2014.
Based on Chinese medicine theory, Acutonics recognizes that disease arises from blockages in the energy or Qi flow of the body. Tuning forks are struck on a rubber activator held by the practitioner and then placed on acupuncture, acupressure or trigger points on the patient's body. Acutonics stimulates and balances the body's physical, emotional and mental energy fields, much like acupuncture, without the use of needles. This is an effective and relaxing modality, which is suitable for children and adults with chronic or acute conditions.
