Aloha! Nala specializes in Certified Lymphedema Massage and Clinical Massage Therapy. Nala has 20 years of experience working with clients of all ages, sizes, medical conditions, and through all stages of life. Lymphedema clients include post-surgical, following cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures, to alleviate symptoms related to cancer treatments, swelling and pain related to injuries, swelling of the hands and feet related to pregnancy, and to stimulate natural detoxification of the body. Clinical massage clients include chronic pain, limited range of motion, soft tissue injuries, headaches, migraines, muscle aches and tension. My massage career began after graduating from the Clinical Massage Therapy Program at the Nationally Accredited Utah College of Massage Therapy. I continued on with specialized training in Structural Integration, Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy, Japanese Foot Massage, Anma Japanese Massage, Myotherapy, Hospital Massage, Thera-Cupping, Certified Lymphedema & Decongestive Therapy, and training as an apprentice in Kobido Japanese Face Massage. I have work experience as a massage therapist doing Spa/Resort Luxury Massage & Body Treatments, Rehabilitative & Medical Massage Therapy, and Geriatric & Hospice Massage Therapy. I have a background in Holistic Nursing, which has greatly broadened my experience in working with people with medically- related needs or conditions that require special considerations, and in helping them learn how massage therapy can help improve quality of life.
Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. Note that a 60 minute session will not cover the entire body, rather it would be for more specific areas. Sign up for 90 minutes or 2 hours to address the whole body.
