MScPT, BSc, BHK, Functional Dry Needling, CAFCI (acupuncture), Womens Health/Pelvic Floor and Breastfeeding Therapy Dana was raised in Squamish and grew up shredding the mountains of Whistler-Blackcomb. Throughout high school and university Dana worked for the mountain as a ski instructor, a custom boot fitter, and volunteered with the Adaptive Ski Program. Dana earned her Bachelors of Science as well as a Bachelors of Human Kinetic from the University of British Columbia. She took a few years off between degrees to ski bum and compete on the World, North American, and Canadian Freeski Tours before completing her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. Since graduating Dana has been continuing her education by gaining her manual therapy levels, becoming certified in acupuncture and functional dry needling, and training as a women’s health and pelvic floor physical therapist. In the clinic Dana’s interests include sports therapy, post-surgical rehabilitation, and education for injury prevention. As a women’s health and pelvic floor physical therapist, Dana treats a variety of conditions relating to pelvic pain and dysfunction, incontinence, and pre and post natal rehabilitation. As an active mom of two Dana wants to help women remain active and functional throughout their pregnancies and prepare their bodies to return to activity after baby has arrived. During any treatment Dana’s approach is to incorporate manual therapy with sport and functional exercise while providing education to help her clients understand their condition, their role in recovery and why each form of treatment has been chosen.
