Denise Doehren, BSc, RMT, Registered Massage Therapist Lymphatic Drainage Specialist. Denise was drawn to a 3000-hr Diploma in Advanced Clinical Massage here in Calgary as a springboard to a new career, one which would allow her to help her community in a more holistic way. Denise graduated from Makami college in 2020. While she enjoyed all aspects of the course, she found she was particularly drawn to the lymphatic system and how therapy can help with so many issues in the body. This thirst for knowledge has led to certification at 3 levels in Lymph Drainage Therapy with the Chikly Health Institute. Denise is both a military veteran, having served in the Royal Air Force in the 90’s and worked as a Biomedical Scientist with the National Health Service in the UK. As a result of this journey, she can place a client at ease to listen both to their story but also to what their body needs. she can then provide individualised care for every patient. Denise has learnt through personal experience that the body has an amazing capacity to self heal. Denise specializes in lymphatic drainage therapy and uses several other modalities to assist in this process including Swedish relaxation, myofascial work and cupping. Denise has also recently completed a 1st level course in Cranial Sacral therapy and a course in Clinical Somatics and is looking forward to combining these new skills of working with the central nervous system and the brain-muscle connection with the fascial and lymphatic systems, aiding in the relaxation of the mind and body.
