Juana received her BS Degree in Biology from Northern Arizona University in 1985. She then received her Massage Therapy training from the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts in Tucson, Arizona in 1990 (now known as Cortiva Institute School of Massage Therapy). She and her husband (and fellow massage therapist), Scott Nicholson, moved up here that same year to make Flagstaff their home. She is licensed by the Arizona State Board of Massage Therapy, Board Certified by NCTMB, members of the American Massage Therapy Association. Juana is also a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner certified by the Nutritional Therapy Association. Massage
In our Therapeutic Massage we end up using a variety to techniques to tailer the session to your specific needs. It could include Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, a variety of Stretches to CranioSacral Therapy and perhaps some Manual Lymphatic Drainage. It all depends on what is presenting itself and your preferences.
Lymphatic Drainage
Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart.
