Born and raised in Calgary, Lori graduated from the University of Alberta in 2002, obtaining her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy (with distinction), and being awarded the Dean’s Gold Medal for the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine. Lori’s extensive clinical experience has included work in both private clinics and hospital settings, as well as providing home-based treatment options to families with children with special needs. Lori is certified in medical acupuncture, and is also a certified K-Tape Practitioner (with specific training in Women’s Health applications), and certified Hypopressive Low Pressure Fitness Instructor. For those not familiar with Hypopressive Low Pressure Fitness, this technique uses specific postures and breathing techniques to improve postural alignment, deep core strength and stability, and even improve the status and symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse and incontinence. Lori’s training includes Women’s pelvic health and Children’s pelvic health. She has completed additional specialty training in incontinence (both urinary and fecal), dyspareunia (painful intercourse), and pelvic floor rehabilitation. Further education in orthopedics, manual muscle therapy, core stability training, and many pediatric-based training courses allow Lori to draw from a number of treatment pathways to address your unique concerns and goals. Lori is passionate about Women’s Health and Pediatrics, and has a keen interest in health promotion and the preventive measures people can take to maintain and improve their overall health and well-being. Recognized as a local expert in Plagiocephaly and Torticollis, Lori has been responsible for many parent-education initiatives, and has also presented to numerous groups of physicians, pediatric residents, and other health care professionals, including at the Physiotherapy National Congress in May, 2009. Lori is very excited to be a part of Lakeview Physiotherapy and looks forward to providing you and your family with the highest level of care.

This women's pelvic health assessment is to evaluate and create an individual treatment plan for urinary and bowel issues, pelvic pain, prenatal or post natal concerns, peri-menopause symptoms or anything relating to the function of a women's pelvis! Often an internal exam is a component of the assessment.
