Akela is a Registered Massage Therapist who is passionate about taking a holistic approach to treatment. She believes that the body functions as an interconnected system and that lasting results often come from looking beyond the area of pain to understand the underlying factors contributing to discomfort. Using her strong background in anatomy and biomechanics, she performs thorough assessments to identify the root cause of dysfunction and provides individualized home care to help clients continue making progress between treatments. Her goal is to help clients move better, feel better, and support their overall well-being. She incorporates a variety of treatment techniques to tailor each session to the individual, including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, Swedish massage, and craniosacral therapy. While she is happy to provide deeper pressure when clinically indicated, her treatments are not centered around deep tissue massage. Instead, she focuses on using the most appropriate techniques and pressure to create effective, lasting change. Outside the clinic, Akela is a strong advocate for healthy, active living. She enjoys hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and spending time on her hobby farm with her partner, their three cats, dog, and flock of chickens. Akela will be starting maternity leave in September and looks forward to returning to the clinic after spending time with her growing family.
A first-time treatment for expecting mothers.
