Dr. Troy Thornton was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. Growing up he played many sports including hockey, baseball, and football. A bad injury in hockey led him to discover the benefits of Chiropractic and ultimately he chose a career in this field. After graduating from the University of Manitoba, Dr. Thornton continued his education at Life University School of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia. Here he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree graduating Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into the prestigious Pi Tau Delta International Chiropractic Honors society for scholastic standing. Upon returning to Winnipeg, Dr. Thornton opened Thornton Chiropractic where he has been in full time practice for the last 25 years and has treated people from newborns, families, weekend warriors, and professional athletes. Dr. Thornton mainly uses diversified technique but also employs Thompson Drop, SOT, activator, extremity work, and soft tissue mobilization to help patients reach their goals. In 2023, Dr. Thornton began treating patients out of his cottage in the LOTW area and has now teamed with Lake of the Woods Chiropractic and Wellness to better serve the community. Outside the practice Dr. Thornton cherishes family time with his wife, Tara, three grown kids, and their two dogs. Dr. Thornton also enjoys the outdoors, playing his guitar, and cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Winnipeg Jets and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
This appointment is for New Patients. Entails a detailed history of the presenting complaint, physical examination, and detailed review of medical information. A clinical diagnosis, report of findings, and treatment plan will be established. Treatment will also be included on this visit. *Patient may be referred to another healthcare provider, if required.
