Ben was born and raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia where he grew up playing a wide variety of sports, his favourites being hockey, soccer and sailing. Over time, Ben’s passion for physical activity lead him to pursuing a career in physiotherapy. Ben completed a Bachelor of Science at Cape Breton University in 2017. He then furthered his education, completing a Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University in 2020. While in university, Ben thoroughly enjoyed his work as a student athletic trainer with CBU’s soccer and basketball teams. He was fortunate enough to gain valuable, sport-specific experience which he later developed even further while working as a Physiotherapist for the Glasgow Accies rugby club. On top of sport and orthopaedic injuries, Ben enjoys treating concussions. He has undergone additional training in the assessment, treatment and management of concussions, being Complete Concussion Management Inc. certified, as well as successfully completing the R2P Concussion Management courses. Today, you can see Ben around the rink, as he is the trainer for the U15 AAA Eastern Thunder. He has also represented the province with the U14 Male Team NL at the Atlantic Challenge Cup, as well as representing Team Canada as Physiotherapist at the 2023 World Jr Ball Hockey Championships in Liberec, Czech Republic. Ben aims to provide personalized and effective treatment to help all athletes and patients achieve their goals!
