Meet Makayla — From Army Boots to Healing Hands Makayla’s path to massage therapy wasn’t exactly traditional—unless you count Army training and dental work as a warm-up for deep tissue and trigger points! After realizing that neither full-time soldier life nor the dental field were quite the right fit, she kept coming back to a childhood memory: giving her hardworking parents back rubs and seeing how much relief a simple touch could bring. Eventually, she stopped brushing off the idea and dove headfirst into massage school at Northwest Career College—and hasn’t looked back. While the spa scene didn’t quite spark her fire, medical and sports massage did. Makayla thrives on the challenge of helping people get out of pain and back to doing what they love. Now, after three years with N Balance Medical Massage Therapy, she’s not only leveling up her skills—she’s becoming a true force in the field. Her drive to learn, grow, and deliver results makes her a powerful part of our team. When she’s not helping clients improve their posture and feel amazing, you’ll probably find her on a peaceful walk, curled up at home with her cats, or dominating in a video game or two.
Massage Therapy
Our 45-minute Youth Medical Massage Session is tailored exclusively for clients 14 years old and under, providing age-appropriate therapeutic care in a comfortable and supportive environment. Just like with adult initial sessions, this appointment begins with an extra 15 minutes dedicated to a gentle, thorough assessment of posture, movement, and areas of concern. This helps us understand what your child is experiencing and ensures that treatment is both safe and effective. Because children typically have a shorter tolerance for sustained therapeutic work, the hands-on portion of the session is intentionally shortened. This allows us to provide focused medical massage without overwhelming younger clients or exceeding what is developmentally appropriate for their bodies. Our therapists use specialized techniques suitable for youth, prioritizing comfort, safety, and clear communication throughout the session. Whether your child participates in sports, has postural tension from schoolwork or devices, or is recovering from an injury, this session provides targeted care designed to support healthy movement and overall well-being. This session is offered exclusively for children to ensure the right balance between effective treatment and a positive, manageable experience. Duration: 60 minutes
Lymphatic Drainage
FOR NEW CLIENTS: Our 30-minute New Client Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) Session offers a gentle introduction to lymphatic therapy for clients who need quick, focused support but may be limited by time or budget. This session begins with an extra 15 minutes dedicated to reviewing your intake form, medical history, and areas of swelling or concern to ensure treatment is both safe and appropriate. While this option is available, we do not typically recommend a 30-minute MLD session for new clients, as most individuals benefit greatly from the extended hands-on time provided in our longer sessions. However, when circumstances require a shorter visit, this session allows your therapist to perform targeted lymphatic drainage on the most essential areas. This gentle, rhythmic technique helps encourage lymph flow, reduce localized swelling, and support the body’s natural healing processes—even within a shorter timeframe. If you need focused relief and are looking for a shorter option, this session provides a safe and effective introduction to the benefits of MLD. Duration: 45 minutes
