Charene is a graduate of the University of Alberta Masters of Physical Therapy program and has been practicing since 2008. She traveled and worked overseas fine tuning her skills in Moscow, Russia; Singapore; and Houston, Texas! She has been exposed to many cultures and practices of health care, incorporating them in her treatment approach. Since graduating she has taken courses in manual therapy and exercise prescription, and has obtained many certifications over the years: Acupuncture, Dry Needling, Post Graduate Certificate in Pain Management, Balanced Body Mat Pilates, and Rock Tape Practitioner. She has also taken further courses in Balanced Body Reformer Pilates and Core Align; hand therapy; and soft tissue release. She’s certified in spinal manipulation, neurokinetic therapy, and hip impingement. She likes to focus on whole body mechanics and turning treatment into prevention. Charene also works with a network of practitioners with a special focus on treating hypermobility spectrum disorder (HSD) and Ehlers-Danlos (EDS) patients. Charene is excited to be back in Calgary with her husband and two wonderful boys, and particularly excited to be working at Chaparral with the freedom to spend time with clients, focusing on assisting clients with their therapy and lifestyle goals!
Physiotherapy Assessments (includes a treatment) are for new injuries or the same injury that we have not treated for more than 6 months. Our Physiotherapy Assessments are an in depth analysis of your injury. Our Manual Therapists will take the time to properly diagnose and treat your condition. The initial assessment takes approximately 60 minutes and includes a treatment. We believe in the value of education and quality care and we have adjusted our treatment times to reflect that. Please note in notes section of your booking if your injury is a workplace injury or the result of a car accident..
