Kathy is an experienced and well-versed physiotherapist with more than 30 years of experience as a health care clinician. She is originally from London Ontario and graduated from Western University before setting off to live and practice in several different corners of the country, most notably Alberta and British Columbia. In addition to her clinical experience, Kathy has a focus on hands-on manual therapy that includes certification in sport rehabilitation, Gunn IMS (dry needling) and acupuncture through the Canadian Acupuncture Foundation. Kathy has also expander her skill set but completing an education in Osteopathy and when working within that scope Kathy is able to offer unique treatments such as craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation and TMJ (Jaw Joint) treatments. Kathy has worked in a variety of settings and treated the gamut of conditions. With her unique combination of skills and extensive training, Kathy has the ability to work with just about anyone, but she find the most satisfaction troubleshoot with patients who have “tried everything”. Another important thing to know is that Kathy prides herself on working towards each client’s unique goals, whether that means simply achieving a pain-free day or progressing elite athletes to a championship! She believes the body works as a whole unit and also believes that a collaborative approach between herself, the client, and others with the health care team is the best way to create a successful rehab experience. Kathy isn’t just a clinician, she also know what it means to me a patient. During her time as a varsity athlete at Western, Kathy experienced multiple bouts of shin splints and even a stress fracture. Yet, in-spite of those obstacles, Kathy pushed onward to become a competitive triathlete, an adventure racer, a mountain bike racer, and a kayaker. She loves to backpack, camp and go on just about any outdoor adventure…. but most of the time now she’s simply too busy for all of that … she has young twin girls to runaround after!
