Kierstyn is a small-town Northern Ontario native, physiotherapist, and full-time firefighter with a passion for movement, rehabilitation, and helping people stay strong and capable throughout every stage of life. She earned her Bachelor of Physical and Health Education from Nipissing University in 2016 before completing her Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Queen’s University in 2021. After several years of practicing physiotherapy, Kierstyn took a step into a new chapter of her career and became a full-time firefighter. Now, she is excited to return to physiotherapy on a part-time basis, bringing with her a unique perspective that combines her clinical experience with firsthand experience in the demands of emergency response. As both a physiotherapist and firefighter, Kierstyn has a particular passion for supporting fellow firefighters, first responders, and emergency service professionals. She understands the physical demands of the job and the importance of being strong, resilient, and ready to perform when it matters most. Her goal is to use her experience from both sides of the emergency-response world to help others stay healthy, recover from injury, and continue doing the work they are passionate about. Kierstyn is also excited to bring some new ideas, projects, and opportunities to her physiotherapy practice. She hopes to develop meaningful ways to support not only emergency responders, but also the broader community—helping people of all ages move better, feel stronger, build confidence in their bodies, and stay active. She believes physiotherapy should be practical, engaging, and tailored to the individual, combining progressive exercise, education, and hands-on care to help people reach goals that are meaningful to them. Whether you're recovering from an injury, working toward a performance goal, returning to a physically demanding career, or simply looking to stay active and strong, Kierstyn enjoys working with people to build resilience and confidence in their bodies. She is especially excited about creating programs and opportunities that bridge the gap between physiotherapy, fitness, and the real-world demands of physically demanding jobs and active lifestyles. Outside of physiotherapy and firefighting, Kierstyn is an avid outdoors enthusiast, enjoys CrossFit and staying active, and loves exploring the trails with her hike-loving dog. She is always setting new goals for herself and finds just as much satisfaction in helping others achieve theirs. Kierstyn is excited to be back practicing physiotherapy and looks forward to finding new ways to support her fellow emergency responders and her community in whatever ways she can.
