Michael obtained a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Queen’s University, as well as, a Bachelor of Science with Honours degree in Kinesiology from York University prior to that. Having participated in competitive sports such as: hockey and track and field while growing up and throughout his university career, Michael has an intimate knowledge of the patient experience. This encompasses a deep understanding of both the physical and mental states of the rehabilitation process. Therefore, Michael consistently strives to provide treatment in a patient-centered lens, ensuring that every step of the rehabilitation process is individually tailored to your unique situation. As part of this process, Michael emphasizes active exercises, patient education, and manual therapy skills. Yet, what ties this whole process together is the continual communication that is provided throughout each step of your rehabilitation which ensures that you are empowered to work back towards your active lifestyle. Throughout his education, Michael has gained experience in a wide area of rehabilitation. This ranges from treating injuries experienced by weekend warriors and athletes, all the way to people suffering from neurological conditions such as Parkinsons. Yet, as any good clinician, Michael knows that professional development is an ongoing process and he always has future plans to expand his skills to continue to provide exceptional care. Currently, Michael has taken courses ranging from traumatic brain injuries to how sleep affects chronic pain. Outside of the workplace, Michael is also a published research author and teaches at York University, trying to foster the new generation of potential healthcare providers.
