Tsubasa is a massage therapist with over 500 hours of training across a range of modalities, including Deep Tissue, Swedish, Foot Reflexology, and Traditional Thai massage. His primary focus, however, is on Shiatsu, a Japanese therapeutic style rooted in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Tsubasa is drawn to Shiatsu because of its blend of meditation, body awareness, creativity, and healing. He views it as a dynamic art form that requires continuous practice to develop the sensitivity and intuition needed to truly understand and support the body’s natural rhythms and energy flow. His background in Zen monastic training at the Green Gulch Farm Zen Center and Tassajara Zen Mountain Center, combined with his daily Tai Chi practice, shapes and refines his Shiatsu practice. These disciplines instill in him the understanding that caring for his own health and mindfulness is essential to caring for the health and well-being of his clients. In addition to his massage practice, Tsubasa is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Science. His studies are complemented by an internship at Acusport Health Center, where he is gaining hands-on experience in sports medicine and orthopedic acupuncture under Dr. Yael Ben-Porat. He is expected to graduate in Spring 2026. Outside of his professional life, Tsubasa enjoys gardening, playing music, skateboarding, and spending time in nature with his partner and their Labsky.
