Lisa has been an active individual for most of her life, growing up playing soccer, rock climbing, skiing and hiking. Here is where she gained an appreciation of her body’s innate capabilities and inspiration to promote optimal movement patterns. This led her to study Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia and then Massage Therapy at Sutherland Chan in Toronto. School gave her knowledge about the mechanics involved with the neuromuscular system, and the processes going on during various activities. She uses this information along with an understanding of how your body works together as a whole when in relation to its environment to best support your body’s ability to get back into alignment. Through many years of experience, techniques such as trigger point therapy, facial work, functional movement patterns, dynamic stretching, rhythmic techniques, mindfulness and more have shown to be an effective way of relieving pain, increasing range of motion and allowing you to get back to the activities you love. Lisa enjoys treating a variety of ailments and is keen to work with you in order to find what works best for your body. By looking at how each muscle group plays a part in your postural alignment we can determine what type of stimulation it may need and provide the necessary self care and movement patterns to get you moving freely. Lisa is passionate about working with you to help facilitate a calm nervous system and efficient movement patterns that will in turn expand your own awareness and ability to heal.
