Dr. Edward Shin, BSc (Hons., Life Sciences SSP), BEd, DAc, DC Dr. Shin graduated from the Queen’s University at Kingston with a Bachelor of Science with Honour’s degree in Life Sciences in 2002 and studied concurrently obtaining a Bachelor of Education degree in 2003. Subsequent to his education at Queen’s he graduated from the 4-year Doctor of Chiropractic degree program from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2008. He is also certified to provide acupuncture and is a graduate of the McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program. Dr. Shin effectively and efficiently utilizes the Functional Restoration Model of care focusing on various facets of rehabilitation including sports injuries, pre/post surgical rehab, workplace injuries and motor vehicle accident recovery. Experience in these areas comes from both professional and personal life experiences. As a former member of the Queen’s University Golden Gaels’ Men’s University Field Lacrosse Team, Dr. Shin understands the unique demands and needs of the athlete and the benefits of physical therapy during one’s athletic career. He utilizes various manual techniques and sport specific exercise prescription. His experiences as an intern at the CMCC walk-in clinic and rotations at the South Riverdale Community Health Centre have also helped him identify the needs of patients from various walks of life and the benefits of working with multiple health care professionals in the management of a patient’s health. Dr. Shin uses Diversified Adjusting Technique coupled with a gentle approach to relieve your pain. He is trained to provide Acupuncture, is a Certified ART and Graston Technique provider. His interest in sports, more specifically golf has led him to train in sports specific physical therapy techniques for the injured golfer as well as focusing on injury prevention. He is a certified Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness Instructor and FitForeGolf provider. Dr. Shin has been in private practice in the Toronto area since graduation and makes this his home. His area of specialty focuses on spinal health along with physical medicine & rehabilitation.
