Christine studied at the School of Physiotherapy at the University of Saskatchewan, graduating in 1992. Christine completed her manual therapy studies through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and through this process she became more skilled with mobilization and manipulation of the spine. She has also completed courses in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, dry needling and intramuscular stimulation IMS. She uses dry needling and IMS to treat stubborn trigger points and release tight overused areas of the body. Christine became interested in treatment of concussion and vestibular therapy which often occurs as a result of a motor vehicle accident or a sports injury. This includes the treatment of BPPV, a condition which affects the crystals in the inner ear and can lead to vertigo, a spinning sensation when the head is moved. Vertigo and balance disorders often need medical attention and Christine collaborates with physicians and specialists to get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. Christine engages her patients to perform simple therapeutic movements and exercises to identify and strengthen the weak link in their body. A thorough physiotherapy assessment usually reveals an underlying biomechanical fault, some movement restriction or an overuse pattern such as a tennis elbow or tendinitis as a result of over training. Christine works with her patient to help them understand their body better and provide them with awareness of what they can do to help themselves. Christine practices yoga, enjoys mountain biking, as well as other mindfulness practices to attend to physical and mental well-being and has found these practices so very helpful in understanding her own injuries and healing process.
