*_scheduling appointments - please contact oiyu at [email protected]_* oiyu (who also goes by “o”) is a registered clinical counsellor (rcc) and a registered acupuncturist (r.ac). after earning a master’s degree in somatic counselling psychology in 2015, they continued on to study chinese medicine, rooting their body-oriented practice in ancestral land-based healing. oiyu's approach is grounded in the intelligence of the body–the body as a vessel for transformation, a gathering site for heart-mind-spirit, a channel for intergenerational wisdom, and a microcosm for macrocosmic change. oiyu has over a decade of experience working in community health–providing trauma-responsive, gender-affirming, and culturally competent care to people marginalized by structural oppression, and who continue to persist and resist the colonial project. a lifelong student, oiyu continues to deepen studies in somatics, herbal medicine, qigong and taiji, yijing divination and daoist dream practice. each session is tailored to the person’s unique needs, guided by curiosity, play, and deep listening. oiyu's acupuncture style is gentle and may include non-insertion needle methods (eg. teishin and okyu moxibustion). oiyu honours their ancestral lineage from the cantonese-speaking region of the pearl river delta, and the land and original stewards of the səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (tsleil-waututh), Skwxwú7mesh (squamish) and xwməθkwəy̓ əm (musqueam) nations. sliding scale available. please contact oiyu to discuss options.
