Lorena graduated from the Acupuncture Program at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton. She is a Registered Acupuncturist with the College & Association of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAAA). She also holds a degree as Doctor in Veterinary Medicine, from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in Mexico City, where she graduated with Honors. She brings more than 15 years of experience in medical knowledge treating pain and anxiety. After visiting family in Edmonton, she fell in love with the city and the River Valley and decided, along with her husband, to raise their twins here. Lorena has experience treating chronic pain, neck, lower back pain, migraine headaches, insomnia, anxiety, autoimmune, inflammation and, gastrointestinal issues. She has a special interest in women’s health, perimenopause and autoimmune disease. She loves incorporating auricular acupuncture to her treatments, among other modalities, like guasha, moxa and cupping. Her needling technique is gentle, perfect for anxious and first-time acupuncture patients. In her free time, you can find her enjoying time with her family, watching movies and reading or enjoying the mountains in Vail, Colorado.
