His study of movement and energy within the practice of the martial art Aikido led to Tom’s initial study of massage therapy over 20 years ago. He has practiced massage in San Francisco for many years and enjoys working with people with a variety of therapeutic needs and wishes. Tom trained initially with Judith McKinnon at the McKinnon Institute in Swedish/Esalen massage. He expanded his training to include Shiatsu, lymphatic and deep tissue massage techniques, and prenatal massage. Tom recently pursued training in Neuromuscular Therapy, and study with Tom Hendrickson of the Hendrickson Method Institute of Orthopedic Massage and Manual Therapy (LINK: www.hendricksonmethod.com) His continuing study has enabled Tom to effectively treat an array of orthopedic conditions for pain relief, and help patients rehabilitate following trauma or injury.
