A doctor of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, Angela combines eastern therapies with modern science to create an integrative and holistic approach for her patients. Her mission is to provide the highest caliber of real, hands-on care to her patients using a variety of approaches customized to their specific needs. She practices general medicine and treats an array of complaints from sinus and digestive problems to stress, anxiety and depression. She specializes in pain management, sports medicine, women’s health and neurological disorders. After experiencing incredible relief from neck and low back injuries with acupuncture, Dr Angela earned both her Master of Science and Doctorate in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, a five-year, comprehensive program in acupuncture, herbs and the fundamentals of Chinese as well as Western medicine. She completed a two-year clinical internship at Pacific College in general medicine, and another two-year internship at Acusport, a leading health center in orthopedic rehabilitation. During this time, she pursued a long standing passion for women’s health care for which she continued to further her studies. She is a licensed acupuncturist and primary care physician in CA and is certified nationally as well. Prior to acupuncture, Dr Angela built a thriving massage practice working with multiple professional athletes, from the NFL to the US Olympic team, as well as with Lisa Sherwood, CNM of Beach Cities Midwifery performing pregnancy massage and acupressure during labor and childbirth. Dr Angela earned a BA in physical anthropology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her regard for humanity and the planet has inspired her to inquire and travel extensively. It has brought her into contact with numerous traditional medical systems as well as the great diversity that is global health care today. She believes that the largest part of wellness can be achieved and maintained through lifestyle, with interventions to correct imbalances and promote health. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with patients to help them achieve their goals. Angela continues to pursue a love of travel and culture with her husband Eric, which she combines with backpacking, rock climbing, surfing, meditation and a general spirit for the outdoors. She enjoys immensely and couldn’t possibly do without her wonderful community of family and friends, for which she gives constant thanks.
