Growing up in beautiful, sunny Colorado, Dr. Sydney Rowan discovered her love for the outdoors at a young age. She grew up participating in competitive volleyball and swimming, which sparked a lifelong passion for movement, health, and wellness. Sydney attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology with a pre-medical emphasis. After moving to Portland in 2015, she discovered the world of chiropractic care and quickly realized it was the career path she was meant to pursue. She graduated from the University of Western States summa cum laude in 2019 with a Doctorate of Chiropractic and a Master’s degree in Sports Medicine. During her training, Dr. Rowan expanded her clinical skills through additional coursework and certifications including Active Release Technique (ART), McKenzie Diagnostic Technique (MDT), Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Motion Palpation Institute (MPI), Webster Technique, and Neuromuscular Dynamic Solutions (NDS). Dr. Rowan practices a gentle, patient-centered approach to chiropractic care that focuses heavily on soft tissue work, movement rehabilitation, and education. She frequently works with patients experiencing complex or persistent pain conditions, including individuals with hypermobility syndrome and those who may feel fearful of movement due to previous injury. Her goal is to help patients rebuild trust in their bodies through thoughtful, progressive care that combines hands-on treatment, rehabilitation strategies, and specific chiropractic adjustments when appropriate. Her clinical interests include chiropractic care, physical rehabilitation, and prenatal and postpartum care. She enjoys helping patients improve function, reduce pain, and return to the activities that matter most to them. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Rowan enjoys exploring the trails of Forest Park, hiking throughout the Pacific Northwest, and spending time with her husband and their two dogs, Piper and Oliver.
