Dr. John J. Rockas has been practicing chiropractic for the past ten years in the Midwest and now currently practicing at Clarence Chiropractic. He opened his own practice in Des Moines, Iowa after graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, the foundation of chiropractic since 1895. While starting up his practice, Dr. Rockas also taught anatomy/physiology courses to pre-med students and advanced biology studies as a professor in Des Moines. In 2019 he decided to relocate back to New York and be closer to his family and practice in the Buffalo region. Dr. Rockas grew up in Rochester and the Finger Lakes region and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Nazareth College of Rochester. He also studied Italian and fine art and later won several scholarships to study abroad in Florence, Italy and Rome. He moved to New York City after graduating and began creative work which lead him to become a graphic designer for ten years at American Greetings in Cleveland, Ohio. He later relocated to the Midwest and maintained free-lance work, but always had an interest in the sciences and medical field. Soon he decided to shadow several doctors and enjoyed chiropractic the most out of many medical professions. While attending grad school, he also earned his solo pilot’s license to fly Cessna airplanes. He later received his Doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 2013 and opened his practice. He is proficient in a variety of techniques including Gonstead, Upper Cervical adjusting, Webster technique, Extremity adjusting, flexion-distraction technique, drop table and diversified adjusting. His interests include cooking Mediterranean dishes, fine art abstract landscape painting, coin collecting, gardening, and reading often. He is licensed in New York and is certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
